In Barcelona’s 2-2 draw with Sevilla, Messi made a last-ditch, well-timed tackle inside his own box to stop Ever Banega’s shot. After he played a pass to Dani Alves, the Brazilian’s return was intercepted, and Banega moved menacingly towards the goal. However, the little Argentinian recognised the problem and ran back, to make a brilliant tackle.
This again proves that Messi is truly as selfless a player as they come, and the cause of the team is all that matters to him.
